ABB
WHILE THE WALLS ARE OPEN
Electrical Modernisation for Housing Companies
Context
When a housing company begins a pipe renovation, the walls are already open and the building is already under renovation.
ABB saw an opportunity in that moment.
Why not modernise the electrical systems at the same time?
The idea needed to speak to property managers, housing company boards and residents in Finland, while also scaling to other Nordic markets.
Approach
Electrical systems are mostly hidden.
So we made their benefits visible.
We placed ABB’s solutions inside one apartment building and showed what each one does in everyday life.
Safer wiring. Better access control. Moisture protection. Wireless control. Easier future renovations.
The apartment building became the interface.
One cutaway image showed every solution where it actually belongs. On the website, each part was clickable. In the brochure, each benefit was explained in context.
A complex technical offering became one building people could explore and understand.
Do the electrics while the walls are already open.

Additional work for ABB
As Art Director on the ABB account, I designed and produced marketing materials for the company’s Porvoo and Vaasa operations.
The work included concepts, advertising, catalogues and other marketing applications. Porvoo focused on electrical installation products, while Vaasa worked across motors, low-voltage systems, power distribution and industrial solutions.
ABB is a global technology company operating in more than 100 countries and employing around 110,000 people. In Finland, it employs around 5,000 people across roughly 20 locations.
